Rota do Açúcar – Half-day Tour

Divides the island proverbially, because the valley is only interrupted by the Encumeada path and runs on the north side of Madeira to São Vicente. But we follow the Levada Nova on the sheltered south side towards the sea. Picturesque views await us as we walk along deserted but also cultivated terraced fields. There is often a rustle on the side of the path and we keep seeing small lizards. They are particularly cheeky at picnics and like to snack when you share.
