The Nonnental, nestled between majestic mountains, reveals itself as a hidden gem that promises not only breathtaking views but also a deep connection with pure nature. This secluded paradise amazes visitors and offers an unrivalled escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
But before we immerse ourselves in this enchanted valley, we make a stopover on the Pico dos Barcelos, high above the rooftops of Funchal. From here, we are treated to a panoramic view that lays the entire splendour of Funchal at our feet. The scenery is almost magical as the city spreads out before us and the coastline disappears into the deep blue Atlantic.
But this is just the beginning of our adventure. Our next destination is Pico Aireiro, one of Madeira’s highest peaks. A feeling of grandeur flows through us as we reach the summit – the roof of the world seems to be ours. Hovering above the clouds, a far-reaching view opens up to us in all directions. The majestic peaks of the surrounding mountains stretch out before us, while the landscape spreads out in all its splendor.
